MILS stands for Modular Intergrated Landscaping System. It is a system in which the community has collectively agreed to create a standard by which different types of landscapes can be connected in a modular way. As the name implies, this system revolves around modules that can be linked together in a modular fashion to form a large whole.
Within the MILS system, all modules within this group have a size of 32×32 Studs and are compatible with other MILS on all four sides. In this way, they can be connected to other modules in any way without breaking up the whole.
The corners of the MILS are used for two purposes. With the help of the 2×2 plates, you can make a recognition that makes your modules easy to recognize. Furthermore, space is reserved in the middle between the base plate and the top plates. This space is used for easier hiding of e.g. cables if you want to illuminate your construction. An example of a MILS plate is shown in the picture below.
